AffinEco Adds Coordinator to Facilitate Employee Vaccinations

AffinEco’s Valerie Navas

AffinEco is going the extra mile to get all of its nearly 2,000 workers vaccinated and protected against COVID-19. The company has even hired a vaccine coordinator to help employees get the shot.

Valerie Navas, who is bilingual, is contacting all AffinEco’s workers by text, call, or email.

“She’s reaching out to our employees in any way possible, providing information, answering questions, discussing the vaccine, helping them schedule appointments, and helping them overcome any anxieties they have,” explained Lou Gutierrez, AffinEco’s general manager of Administration.

Navas, who is fully vaccinated herself, will even drive workers to their vaccine appointments.

“At the current time, AffinEco is strongly encouraging employees to get vaccinated because it helps keep them safe, keep their co-workers safe, and keep our clients safe. And if we’re going to strongly encourage vaccines, we need to help people through the process,” Gutierrez added. “This is a huge resource, helping people to navigate the system.”

Navas has reached out to more than 1,000 employees so far.  She reports many have already been vaccinated.

“They want life and work to go back to normal,” she said. The goal is to have every worker vaccinated by the middle of July.

Navas is a familiar face at AffinEco. Her father is a longtime director of operations for a client in Westport.

She’s happy to be part of making AffinEco and the community a safer place.

“It’s very fulfilling,” Navas said. “Yes, the pandemic happened, but we all want to move forward in life.”
