Sandra Otalvaro loves going to school every day. She is AffinEco’s head custodian at the Ponus Ridge STEAM Academy in Norwalk, CT, and was recently praised by leaders there. An email from a school official to AffinEco’s corporate office called her out as one of the company’s “top performers,” and asked that she be recognized.
“Sandra is a great leader and very hard worker. She is reliable and always follows through. I have never seen Sandra not doing something. She consistently goes above and beyond,” wrote George Sevc, the school’s maintenance supervisor.
Sandra has worked at AffinEco for three years and, for nearly a year, she has been assigned to Ponus.
“I love it. The people are very nice and I love seeing the kids,” she said. “I clean the floors and the windows. I pick up any garbage. I check the bathrooms.”
Sandra’s supervisor, AffinEco Area Manager Xavier Vera, says he loves having Sandra on his team.
“She’s very kind and a hard worker. She’s very responsible and extremely polite. Whatever she does, she does with pride.”
Sandra, who lives in Stamford, looks forward to going to work every day.
“I love to see the school clean,” she said. “I cannot stop because I want it clean everywhere. I want to help the students and the teachers.”
